The autumn concerts in Kokemaki town and Pori are performed by Pori Big Band conducted by Petri Juutilainen and the soloist is Aziz Şenol Filiz on ney. The tunes from Turkish traditional folk and art music are specially arranged by Cem Tuncer, who is one of the arrangers of State Radio and Television (TRT) Big Band in Istanbul. This is a very unique project, a ney and jazz big band had never played together before. The project signifies Turkey’s tradition uniting with the international art forms of today by the artistry and artwork of an arranger from Istanbul, providing the musical encounters of the jazz musicians of Pori and a virtuoso of ney which is a very tradional Turkish instrument.
