Pori Jazz Festival Venues / July 17th – 21st, 2010
Pori Jazz/Kids Festival employes several multicultural events. In this context, IPMN is represented in the festival by two separate Turkish ethnic musical instrument workshops. İsmail Hakkı Ersel and Emre Ateşler organize a tutorial workshop for kids on Turkish wind instruments “ney” and “kaval”. And Okay Temiz organizes a tutorial workshop for kids on several percussion instruments basically on “darbuka”.
For both workshops Turkish tutors take their tutorial materials including raw or semi finished materials to built their instruments. Together with attended kids, they build the instruments. The participant children become familiar to Turkish instruments. At the end, all children take the stage together with their teachers and performe simple tunes.
